We are not a retail trophy store. We do not sell assembled trophies, and we do not sell to end users. We only sell trophy components, and we only sell them to awards and recognition retailers. |

| 1977 | Discount Trophy was founded as a retail trophy business in East Hartford, Connecticut. |
| 1978 | Developed a wholesale division to serve local New England retailers through increased buying power. Became the northeast distributor of the Sunburst line of die cast trophy figures. |
| 1980 | Produced first wholesale parts catalog. Began attending trade shows in the northeast. Became a wholesale distributor of PDU products. Moved the wholesale distribution to South Windsor, Connecticut. |
| 1982 | Purchased the tooling for the Sunburst line of die cast trophy figures. |
| 1984 | Became a distributor for the Sunco line of Chinese trophy marble. Concluded an agreement to purchase real estate in Wisconsin to establish a second distribution warehouse location. |
| 1985 | Purchased the manufacturing facilities of Die Casters, Inc. in Mauston, Wisconsin. Purchased the United States distribution of Sunco International marble and opened third distribution warehouse location in Simi Valley, California. Moved the Connecticut distribution location to a much larger facility in an industrial park in East Hartford, Connecticut. |
| 1987 | Built a new 25,000-sq. ft. distribution facility in Mauston, Wisconsin. Built a new 25,000-sq. ft. distribution facility in Palm Coast, Florida, the company's fourth warehouse location. |
| 1989 | Purchased a 25,000-sq. ft. warehouse in Richmond, Virginia to become the company's fifth warehouse location. |
| 1992 | Appointed by the court as the attorney in fact for the liquidation of Marvin L. Walker, a five million-dollar wholesale distributor with locations in Atlanta, Georgia - Houston, Texas - Los Angeles, California. Consolidated Los Angeles into our Orange, California warehouse, closed Texas and continued operations in Atlanta as the company's sixth warehouse location. |
| 1993 | Merged with Marvin L. Walker in Puerto Rico and later acquired full control, to become our first off-shore warehouse location. |
| 1994 | Built a new 25,000-sq. ft. distribution center to service the northeast in South Windsor, Connecticut. Acquired Windy City Distribution in Chicago to become the seventh warehouse location in Bensenville, Illinois. Established a supply agreement with G.B. Distribution in Quebec, Canada to become the second international location. |
| 1995 | Opened a new distribution center in Houston, Texas to be the company's eighth domestic warehouse location. Founded Marco Plastic Industries to serve as the import arm of the company. |
| 1996 | Purchased Vernon, Connecticut 70,000-sq. ft. warehouse location to serve as corporate headquarters and the new home of Marco Plastic Industries where imported products could be cross-docked to other warehouse locations and the new company could expand its line. |
| 1997 | Built a 10,000-sq. ft. addition onto the Vernon warehouse to accommodate the rapid growth of Marco Plastic Industries. Acquired Econoplaque, the original manufacturer of fiberboard plaques. Their line is incorporated into the wholesale distribution and is still in production today. |
| 1998 | Awarded a new PDU distributorship in San Antonio, Texas and opened a full line warehouse to become the company's ninth domestic location. A retail acrylic catalog is produced for customer use. Discount Trophy introduces a new retail catalog for customer use. |
| 1999 | Acquires Alenite Corporation, an eight million-dollar Chicago based manufacturing company with 5 distribution locations, but for the time being it is run as a separate company. Acquires the East Coast distribution location of Tower Ribbon in Lodi, New Jersey as a tenth warehouse location and moves it to North Bergen, New Jersey. |
| 2000 | Alenite division opens a new 20,000-sq. ft. warehouse in Cleveland, Ohio. MPI increases its import operations and seeks new suppliers throughout the world. Discount Trophy begins supplying a complete line of Italian cups. |
| 2002 | Alenite division opens a new distribution center in Memphis, Tennessee. MPI adds major new lines in resin products and becomes the largest importer of resin trophy products in the United States, with more sizes and styles than all other distributors combined. |
| 2003 | Purchased a 65,000-sq. ft. warehouse in Lawrenceville, Georgia to improved customer service in the southeast. MPI introduces a high-end giftware catalog and adds an extensive line of optical crystal to its stable of award components. A crystal retail catalog is also produced. |
| 2004 | Marco Awards Group is formed to incorporate all of the companies now included under the Discount Trophy umbrella. Discount Trophy ends its alliance with PDU and replaces all PDU products with Marco Plastic Industries products in all locations. A new 60-page retail catalog is produced to include MPI products. MPI continues new product innovation with the introduction of the popular RFH plate series. |
| 2005 | A 136,000-sq. ft. southeast regional distribution center is purchased in Lawrenceville, Georgia to cross dock company products throughout the southeastern and south central United States. Reddy Awards, with locations in Phoenix, Arizona and Commerce, California is purchased and merged into the Marco Awards Group. The wholesale trophy distribution of Weiss & Biheller is purchased and consolidated with Discount's own import operations. MPI takes extrusions to the next level with their own manufacturing plant turning out proprietary styles and offering elegant new foils on thick walled extrusions. |
| 2006 | A new 25,000-sq. ft. distribution center is opened in Lenexa, Kansas. The New Jersey warehouse is moved from North Bergen to Edison, New Jersey. The Illinois warehouse is moved from Bensenville to a new 60,000-sq. ft warehouse in Elk Grove Village, Illinois. This new, much larger facility will improve Midwest customer service and allow the company to cross-dock products to our other Midwestern warehouse at a lower cost. A retail Golf catalog is produced to showcase diverse awards to this ever growing market. MPI continues product innovation with the introduction of the unique sports ball high relief medals and the Spinner series of revolving sports ball resin trophies. |
